  • Featured as one of the four ‘Heroes’ on the University of Birmingham Air Pollution Heroes Programme (2018)​ www.birmingham.ac.uk/research/heroes/air-pollution.aspx
  • Member of the AESOP Best Published Paper Prize Committee
  • Awarded the Head of School's Award for Excellence in Teaching and Supporting Student Learning in 2012 (£500) and nominated again in2013
  • ​Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2013
  • Awarded Fritz Schumacher prize by the City of Hamburg in 2007(Germany) dedicated to young professionals working on the built environment (3,000€).
  • Urban Studies paper on “differential spaces” selected amongst 16 others for the 2013 Urban Studies Best Article Award which considers the most innovative and agenda-setting papers published in a given year.

  • External Examiner at the University of Liverpool since 2020
  • I sit on UKRI funding panel and act as reviewers for various national research councils in the UK, Europe, Canada and South Africa
  • Member of the Medical Research Council Global Health Faculty of Experts 
  • I am a member of the Editorial Board of “Espaces et Sociétés”since 2013. Espaces et Sociétés is one of the leading and oldest journal in France, established in 1977 by Henri Lefebvre and Anatole Kopp. It covers the areas of urban planning, architecture and urban studies, and is listed in the top 100 French journals on Google Scholar, across all disciplines.
  • I am also a member of the Editorial Board of the MoCA journal The Large Glass, since 2019. The journal published by the  Skopje Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA) aims to radiate new ideas about the reassessment through criticism and analysis of contemporary art.
